What is the difference between unifloral and multi-floral honey?
Uni-floral or Mono-floral honey is honey collected from the nectar of a single species of flower. It is produced by careful attention to beekeeping methods, such as the placement of hives in areas with high concentration of the desired floral source.
Multi-floral honey, popularly known as ‘thousand flower honey’, comes from the nectar collected by bees from crop plants and plants that grow in meadows and forests. It has a very tender flavor and is rich in nourishing elements.

Is natural the same as Organic?
Natural and Organic are not the same, though a lot of people think so.
Organic food refers to food items that are produced, manufactured and handled using organic means defined by certifying bodies such as the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under its Organic Food Products Act.
Natural food, on the other hand, generally refers to food items that are not altered chemically or synthesized in any form. These are derived from plants and animals. Thus a natural food item is not necessarily organic. |

| What are the properties in honey that make it such a great health food?
Honey is full of spectacular health benefits! It is an excellent substitute for sugar without the added calories. Bees make honey by converting nectar into simple sugars that are easily and quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. Thus, honey gives you instant energy and helps in digestive disorders. Besides boosting physical energy, honey also promotes higher mental efficiency.
Honey is good source of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and C.
Since honey is rich in antioxidants it helps zap damaging free radicals. This means it works wonders for your skin and overall health. Antioxidant-rich foods help against cellular damage and several chronic disorders. These antioxidants are also good for the arteries. Honey reduces oxidation of low-density lipoproteins commonly known as ‘bad’ cholesterol, a benefit which reduces the risk of developing atherosclerosis.
Unlike other sweeteners, honey is predigested and so is easy to digest. When consumed with carbohydrates, such as oatmeal or toast, the enzymes in honey help with the digestion of carbohydrates.
Honey is very good for your skin because of its moisturizing and antibacterial properties. It helps in treating several skin disorders.
These are just some of the many many benefits of honey!
Himalaya Soliga Forest Honey comes from the nectar of hundreds of forest flowers which includes several medicinal plants. This makes it doubly healthy and nutritious. It is dark honey, which is known to have far more therapeutic benefits than lighter honey, including antioxidant count! Being Organic, it retains the natural therapeutic properties of honey. |

| Is honey good for weight loss?
Honey and weight loss are often associated. Why is honey the smarter choice over sugar, especially when it comes to weight watching?
Refined dietary sugars lack minerals and vitamins and are often called empty calories. They draw upon the body's nutrients to be metabolized into the system. When these nutrients are depleted, metabolizing of cholesterol and fatty acid is impeded. This contributes to higher cholesterol and obesity due to higher fatty acid in the organs and tissues.
On the other hand honey, the natural sweetener, contains 22 amino acids and a variety of minerals essential for its metabolism and is therefore helpful in preventing obesity. Drinking lemon juice with a spoonful of honey first thing in the morning is an effective anti-cellulite treatment as it helps to increase body metabolism.
In fact, when compared with the same amount of sugar, honey gives 40% less calories to the body! |
