Sustainable Harvesting

Himalaya Soliga Forest Honey is sustainably harvested honey. When collecting the honey, great care is taken to ensure that the bee colony is not destroyed.

The honeycomb is an intricate structure of honey, wax, pollen and larvae. Sustainable harvesting of honey involves harvesting the ‘honey’ part of the hive without destroying the entire hive. This protects bee larvae and allows the bees to rebuild the honey comb.

The method is both sustainable and scientific, leaving enough honey for comb regeneration. This harvesting technique promotes bee conservation and also contributes to preserving forest ecology.

Soligas are expert honey collectors and their love of the forest land makes them fiercely protective of all life in the forest area. They believe that the bees have the first right to the honey comb and as such only a small amount of honey is collected from each hive.
